Resort Description

All-Inclusive, spectacular palace-style property on the beach – Frequented by couples, especially newlyweds, this stunning All-Inclusive property inside the Playacar resort complex unfolds onto the white sands and blue Caribbean waters of the Yucatan Peninsula. The rambling resort, with white-washed walls and red terra cotta roofs, resembles a Mediterranean palace surrounding a string of shallow fountain pools dotting tropical gardens and walkways.

Accommodations: All rooms and suites are air-conditioned and have private balconies and terraces. Every room also has 2 double beds, satellite TV, telephone, in-room safe, mini-bar, liquor dispenser, hairdryer, and iron/ironing board. Suites feature a living area and dressing room, and there are also Jacuzzis Suites. Room service runs from 7:00am-11:00pm.

Dining & Entertainment: Exchange privileges at nearby resorts, including Riu Yucatan and Riu Playacar, greatly increase your dining options, with choices ranging from international buffets to specialty a la carte venues. Don Julian, the resort's main buffet restaurant (with cook-to-order stations), is open for all meals and serves theme dinners twice a week. A la carte dinner options include a Brazilian Rodizio, a steakhouse, as well as gourmet fare at Sir Edward, and Japanese specialties at Miyagi. A beachside spot serves grilled fare, lunch, and informal meals. Local and imported beverages are served at 5 bars, including a lounge bar and a beach bar. Drinks and snacks are available 24 hours a day. Stage shows provide after-dinner entertainment, and the disco stays open until the early morning hours.

Recreation: The Renova Spa houses a complimentary gym, sauna, and 2 Jacuzzis. For extra indulgence, there's a full menu of massages, treatments, and beauty services. There are 4 Restaurants at Riu Palace Mexico:

  • Don Julian - Featuring international buffets, on-the-spot cooking and main course table service, the Don Julian has a non-smoking area and terrace. Breakfast is from 7 am to 10:30 am, lunch is 12:30 to 3 pm, the first dinner seating is at 6:30, the second is at 8:30
  • La Traviata - La Traviata is located by the beach and offers whole meal products and on- the-spot cooking, becoming an Italian restaurant for dinner. A continental breakfast is served from 10:30 to noon, lunch is 12:30 to 3:30 pm. Men are required to long pants.
  • Rodizio Brasileno La Bodega - A barbecue Brazilian dinner restaurant with theme buffets twice a week and the Gala Dinner once a week (reservations for the Gala Dinner are required one day in advance). Dress code is casual elegance, gentlemen are asked to wear long pants at dinner.
  • El Patio - A Mexican beach restaurant open for lunch, serving hors d`oeuvres from 4 pmto 6 pm.
