Resort Description

Sprawling, Spanish-style, All-Inclusive beachfront resort – This massive All-Inclusive spreads its white-walled, red terracotta-roofed wings toward 400 yards of white sand and warm, blue-green water. One of the largest and grandest destinations in the Caribbean, it boasts more rooms than some multi-hotel mega-resorts, and a level of elegance that is surprising for a hotel of its magnitude. The something-for-everyone approach attracts an international clientele of families, friends, couples, and singles to this Spanish -style property.

Accommodations: The guest rooms and suites are all housed within the sprawling 5-story building. Built facing the beach, many rooms provide views of the ocean. Standard rooms feature 1 king or 2 double beds, and all have sofa beds. Amenities include air-conditioning, TV, phone, coffee and tea maker, mini-bar, in-room safe, hairdryer, and iron/ironing board. Guests staying in suites have access to an exclusive lounge, and enjoy express check-in and late-check out.

Dining & Entertainment: The Alcazar Buffet is open for all meals. El Marlin serves buffet-style meals during the day, with barbecue and seafood in the evening. El Sombrero offers a continental breakfast, snacks during the day, Tex-Mex for dinner, and stays open till morning for late night snacking. El Conuco serves authentic Dominican cooking, Paris is a French restaurant, Roma specializes in Italian dishes, and Tokio serves Japanese teppanyaki-style cuisine. All a la carte restaurants are strictly non-smoking and enforce a "casual elegance" dress code. NOTE: Guests receive pre-arranged invitations to the a la carte restaurants on arrival, but may arrange additional dinners. Drinks are served at 7 bars. Live shows, a casino, and a disco provide nighttime socializing for adults, and there's a mini-disco for kids.

Recreation: The over-sized, lagoon-style pool has palm islands and a swim-up bar. Lounge chairs make for comfortable sunbathing, and plenty of palm trees provide shade. More loungers and thatch-roof palapas are available on the beach, as are a variety of water sports including kayaking, windsurfing, and sailing. On land there's soccer, volleyball, 3 tennis courts, a circus trapeze, and a rock climbing wall. There are 3 golf courses within 20 minutes of the property, and on-site there are exercise facilities, classes in aerobics and dance, spa services (including massage), and a beauty salon. Kids enjoy their own pool and a Kids' Club for ages 4-12.
